The lens shift feature on a device allows the optical lens to be physically shifted up and down vertical or left and right horizontal. About the only nagging drawback is how slow it is switching sources. The BenQ also offers on the W only a small amount of vertical lens shift which could be a real help depending on your room, in terms of mounting the projector.

Viewing the same image side by side with identical screen sizes makes it easy to see differences in black level, contrast, and color. This p DLP projector is very bright and easy to set up. I believe that could reduce the rainbows but not positive.
The new models don’t believe significantly change the results. They are all pretty bright for doing 3D.
Lense cover – Not an issue due to ceiling mount. In a room that does have more than minimal ambient light, I do favor the Epson — for brighter 3D as well as better color at brightest. For most families — the Epsons win.
